Thank you for your words of encouragement and feedback through the past months. Building Tangoristo was one of my new year resolutions for 2017 and I'm so happy to see it helping language students around the world. There is now more than 20 thousand of you!
In 2018 I'm looking forward to making it even better with your help!
Hello! I am Taiwanese living in Taipei and so surprised that you are not Japanese. I just downloaded this app 2 weeks ago. Then I found this app is so powerful since it combines multifunctions including dictionary, article reading, N1-N5 vocabulary distinctions, google translation, and document files. I almost repeatedly read 2-4 articles of NHK easy news everyday and I really can feel the progress. Therefore, I also introduced this app to some of my friends. Many thanks for your efforts to devise such a great app. Happy new year!!

Just realized I introduced a bug on the font size control in the most recent update for Android... the fix (v2.0.8) is now available on Google Play.

Thank you for your feedback during the beta testing phase of v2.0.7.
The update is being rolled out now for all Android users and will be hitting the Apple App store once they complete the review process on their end.
Although there are no flashy features on this release, it will help me have a more stable ground to extend and improve the app over the coming year.
These are the main bullet points for v2.0.7:
☆ Code cleanup ahead of many features I will be implementing in 2018!
☆ Added better crash reporting for users experiencing difficulties running the app.
☆ The phone status bar color scheme is now more consistent with the app day/night mode selection.
☆ Removed those little popups confirming document and word bookmarks. They were a little redundant, and on top of that I'm suspecting they were making the app unstable in some cases.
☆ Fixed handling of inaccurate date/time settings on the device.

Preparing a new update after taking some time to rest from development. This new version does not have new features but it contains a lot of internal code cleaning that will help me develop the features you have requested over the coming months.
In this beta release I'm testing changes for Android users who may have experienced crashes in the app. Also a minor fix: the status bar has a more consistent dark color theme when using Night Mode.
If you'd like to give it a try, please join the Android beta program at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.tangoristo
Please send me your feedback if you experience any issues.
Rolling a couple more fixes on the Android beta: - Back button should work normally now. - I found those little popups when bookmarking words and documents were causing some instability in the app. I'm removing them for the time being.

[update] You should be able to see the latest articles on each feed now (just pull to refresh on the article list). [/update]
It seems we are experiencing issues updating the NHK Easy articles feed (thank you for the heads up Bill). Will update here once it's fixed.

Just a heads up I'm working on a dictionary improvement. It is a lot of painstaking work, so it may take me still a little while to release the next update. Once finished you'll see more detailed word information.

Rolling out some improvements on version 2.0.6 based your feedback. You'll see this on Android beta first and probably out on iOS and Android in the next 48 hours.
☆ Implemented workaround for devices with inaccurate clock setting. Even if your device clock does not match the local time, you should be able to use the app normally.
☆ Vocabulary hint now shows the word reading in hiragana. This should improve the reading flow for users who prefer to have a text view without furigana (thanks for the suggestion Veselin).
☆ Larger touch surface for the vocabulary hint.

Thank you all for the feedback about the vocabulary export feature. I haven't found a way to export entire vocabulary lists into Anki from the device itself, but in the meantime I'm adding a more straightforward way to export individual words.
